Bike Tent 2016 launches April 21!
Bike Tent 2016 launches on Thursday, April 21 at Todos Santos! This is Bike Concord’s flagship service, a hub for our community, and a major venue for our public outreach. Like last year, we’ll be there every Thursday from 5pm-8pm throughout the Farmers’ Market season.
Thanks to our new Surly Bill trailer, we’ll be hauling the entire Bike Tent kit to the plaza behind a single bicycle. (It’s an impressive load.) And thanks to the renewal of our sponsorship from John Muir Health, Bike Tent 2016 will again feature the mechanical expertise of Bronwen Mauch, supported by Bike Concord volunteer mechanics.
Stop by to get free adjustments and tuneups on your bicycle, hear the latest in our work to make Concord safe and convenient for bicycling, and get acquainted with our strong Bike Concord community. Bike Tent is located at the corner of Todos Santos across from Wells Fargo, near the intersection of Willow Pass Rd and Grant St. We look forward to seeing you!
John Muir Health will sponsor Bike Tent 2016
We are delighted to be able to announce that John Muir Health has officially decided to renew their sponsorship of Bike Concord’s Bike Tent for 2016! This will allow us to bring the services of a professional mechanic, maintain our supplies and equipment, and even – thanks to JMH’s generous increase of the sponsorship amount – expand our services beyond the Todos Santos Farmers’ Market to reach more residents who need help keeping their bicycles in good working order.
Big thanks to Cynthia Armour of our partner and fiscal sponsor Bike East Bay for arranging this sponsorship for us.
The Farmers’ Market starts on April 21 this year. We look forward to seeing you at Todos Santos!
Last regular Bike Tent of 2015 is this Thursday
This week is the last week of the Todos Santos Farmers’ Market for 2015, and it will also be the last regular week for Bike Tent until next season. We will have both our chief mechanic Bronwen Mauch, and a mechanic from REI, plus our experienced volunteers doing the easier work like patching flats. Please bring your bike! If you wear a Halloween costume, you will not be out of place, as some of the Bike Concord crew will be doing the same.
5pm-8pm this Thursday at Todos Santos, corner of Grant St and Willow Pass Rd.
